Caereinion Medical Practice is located in the town of Llanfair Caereinion in a beautiful part of Mid Wales. It's a rural but not remote community within an hours' drive of Snowdonia and the Welsh coast to the west, and to the medieval town of Shrewsbury to the east which according to the 2016 Visitors guide was voted “the second happiest place to live in the United Kingdom”. Local towns of Welshpool and Newtown are 15- 20 minutes drive away. It is within an hours drive of the wonderful mountains of Cader Idris and the Aran Fawddwy. There are also plenty of other well known but less strenuous walks including the Mawddach Trail from Dolgellau to Barmouth, the Precipice walk which has stunning views down the Mawddach estuary to the coast as well as numerous local walks.
Llanfair Caereinion is also within easy access to Chester, Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham.
Local attractions include Powis Castle - a castle built around 1200 as a medieval fortress and its world-famous garden; the RSPB nature reserve at Lake Vyrnwy - a reservoir built in the 1880's to supply fresh water for Liverpool, and the local Welshpool - Llanfair light railway which draws thousands of visitors every year.
For the adrenaline junkie there are a number of down hill mountain bike tracks within easy reach including Coed y Brenin and Revolution Bike Park in Llangynnog.
Both the bilingual primary and secondary school in the town have a good reputation. There are also several private schools within easy commute including Shrewsbury School, Oswestry School and Morton Hall School.
